WILD RIDGE
EVERGREEN, CO
This modern home was born out of the desire for a steel-framed simple form that would highlight the surrounding mountain vistas. The concept was persuaded by a complicated site, perched high upon a rocky hillside with a shallow buildable area and a naturally existing drainage pattern.
As the home began to take shape on the site, the program influenced the form to cantilever over a 16-inch board-form concrete wall. The length of the form is oriented north-south, which allows for the master bedroom and living spaces to face east while the entry and garage face west. Low-maintenance materials, exposed concrete floors, and a central concrete fireplace are striking features of this beautiful family retreat.
