Cougar Place is an 800 bed student housing project for the University of Houston.
Cougar Place is organized around two connected residential quads. At the intersection of the quads, a central knuckle contains the larger shared program elements. A series of outdoor bridges provide circulation connections and there are small community/program areas throughout. Access to sunlight within the circulation areas was a priority. The main entry and community area's use of richer materials and orientation enhanced the experience for the project entrance and provided a small relationship to the Cougar Woods Dining Hall located across Cullen. The program included two and four-bedroom suites with shared kitchenettes. *
